Strategic Alliances - Blue Source has developed several key strategic relationships.

Blue Source has developed several key strategic relationships with the nation’s top environmental engineering firms, offset verification firms and private equity investors to help corporations develop projects that manage their carbon footprint and generate a more valuable offset.

Strategic Alliances and Equity Partners

First Reserve Corporation
In 2006, Blue Source partnered with First Reserve Corporation of Greenwich, Conn., the largest private equity fund in the domestic energy industry, to create a strategic partnership to broaden our ability to solve climate change issues in the energy industry. First Reserve seeks significant capital appreciation through negotiated equity and equity-related investments in a diversified portfolio of energy companies. With over $12.5 billion under management, First Reserve Corporation is the oldest and largest buyout group to focus exclusively on a strategy of diversified energy investments.

The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy and Blue Source have created an innovative forest carbon offering for private landowners to advance forest conservation that puts the power of the market to work to protect forests and fight climate change. In December of 2009, The Nature Conservancy launched Working Woodlands, a model forest conservation program that aims to protect forests and fight climate change and through an alliance with Blue Source allows joint development of market-based incentives that reward landowners who demonstrate exceptional forest management practices. Building on the Conservancy and Blue Source’s combined experience with land protection, forest certification and carbon finance, Working Woodlands uses an innovative combination of long-term working forest conservation agreements, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) forest management certification, and carbon market payments to make conservation a more attractive proposition for landowners at no out of pocket cost.
